Just about 1 Km from Puerto de la Duquesa, along the main N-340 highway, lies a small village community that has just latched on to the holiday business. Sabinilla is predominatly a market town with a street market every Friday and a massive car boot sale and market every Sunday.

There are many bars and restaurants here but very few hotels. The town has retaiined much of its original charm yet apartment blocks are springing up on every corner. There is a large community of English residents here who fit quite comfortably into the community and are accepted withouth problems.

The Village of Sabinillas tend to be described as an off shoot of Estepona yet it is rightfully a community of its own. It has a wonderful sandy beach that stretches the whole length of the village, constructing a new paseo along its length. Fishing boats still operate in here with a degree of success.

The village has ample banks, shops, cafes, and other services. Most of the village life revolves around the town square where you will find the post office, farmacia, taxi stand and village church. The village is quiet with a sleepy atmostphere, although it is imagined that in a few years the village will be an integral part of the costa holiday scene.
